A consignment of deep frozen peas (origin The Netherlands), 149.860 kg in wooden crates of ± 800 kg

After harvesting, the peas have been blanched. At the end of the blanching process, it was noticed that the peas had a different colour and were tasting sour. The peas have been deep frozen afterwards and are kept in a cooling warehouse at a temperature of approximately 20°C.

Upon arrival at the port of Antwerp, the goods  showed a temperature of – 5°C. The goods have been deep frozen again.

Goods have been rejected for importation into the EU by the Belgian Food Authorities (FAVV).

However, the anlaysis report drawn up by laboratory AVER concludes the meat is fit for human consumption.

Goods are in transit.
